Hospitality and Services
The rooms of Case Perrotta are dislocated in two different areas, always remaining in the vicinity of each other. In these areas, you can find our unique rooms THE HOME focal point of the Convent ad later the master’s house.
THE MILLSTONE: this area was used to stomp the grapes and produce wine. Every room in Case Perrotta is equipped with heaters and private bathroom either with a shower or with a bathtub and hairdryer. In the rooms, you will also find a welcome kit with slippers, try and soaps made with our olive oil, which is available for you to purchase in our gift shop. Among the equipment’s found in the rooms you will find a mini- bar, kettle with tea and coffee, hot chocolate and milk. TV and safe.
Our continental breakfast buffet, served from 8.30 AM to 10.00 AM, is rich in local products farmed in our Agriturismo. Case Perrotta has free Wi-Fi and a Book crossing area where you can enjoy a good book and relax.
The building is accessible to everyone, we have rooms for the disabled and we also provide cots for infants. We are also proud to be a pet-friendly Agriturismo. Check in time is from 17.00Pm. Check out is at 11.00 Am. For any particular request during your stay our reception staff is always available.

Today this very building has five guest rooms, that still today keep the original architectural structure. Every room has the name of a flower that grows in the farm: cherry, grapes, rose, broom, chestnut, jasmine and silver wattle.

Today this very building hots five comfortable rooms with wooden roofs, and it still retains the architectonical traits of the ancient business. The name of these rooms comes from the trees growing around the farm.

The restaurant of Case Perrotta offers a Sicilian regional cuisine, typical especially in Catania area all the territory surrounding Etna. Our strength is the care of our raw materials; indeed, we use, either our self-produced ingredients, or that come from our territory.
Having a meal at Case Perrotta is a unique experience, a dive in our most ancient traditions, from our donkey meat, our wild herbs, to our traditional recipes from the “Monsù”. Il Massaro ed il Priore
There are two hypotheses regarding the use of Case Perrotta during the Benedictine period, indeed scholars assume that the location was used either as a summer residence or as a monastery. What we know for certain is that the Benedictine monks were the ones who built it, around the 13th century.
This house, where I was born, is full of history, here the Benedict monks have left traces of the chapel, canteen and kitchens. The smoke traces on the walls form the chimney were right behind the hall, that later became the cellar, and later it returned to our family.
The Benedictines were very spoiled when it came to food, the most wanted cuisine of the “Monsù” (French chefs of noble Sicilian families) the tastiest delicacy’s, exquisite meats and other delicious dishes, dint leave them indifferent.

Organic Agriturismo
History and agriculture
The farming production is mainly composed by organic extra virgin olive oil and cherry’s DOP from Etna.
The Agriturismo Case Perrotta is located in an ancient convent of Benedictine monks., in the borders of the National Perk of Mount Etna, in the municipality of Sant’Alfio. The ancient building, that dates back the 16th century, went through many structural revisitation according to the use, as time went by it became a residential building with a millstone for the production of wine. Later on, many small houses were added to the main building, these were used for the workers that were involved in the production of the wine and for the “Massari”. The land surrounding the Agriturismo, has been used for the cultivation of vine until the end of the 20 th century.
During the centuries, the land belonged to several owners, until 1820, when Giulia Fiamingo married N.H Perrotta who gave as dowry all the properties, that today following the lineage of the family, remain with this last one. From 1994 the whole building was restored to become avery comfortable Agriturismo, with 10 beautiful rooms and several restaurants halls.

EXPERIENCES
Like ab excursion with a guide in the National Park of Mount Etna, you can climb the summit of the crater. Or else you can take a tasting of the extra virgin olive oil, with the filling of the sensorial card. You could experience picking olives, during the picking season (October- November) with a visit olive crusher. Take a cooking class and discover secret recopies from our tradition and enjoy dinner with us. Join us for a picking of wild herbs and learn more about this unique herb that grow on Mount Etna, like “qualiceddi, wild fennel, coscivecchi, and canatelle. Go through our property and pick the season fruit from our trees. And finally visit the countryside and taste some great Etna wine with the “Treno dei vini sull’Etna” tour.

Where are we
Agriturismo Case Perrotta is located at 700 meters up the sea level in the municipality of Sant’Alfio, at just a few meters form the millenary chestnut know by locals as the “Castago dei Cento Cavalli”. Case Perrotta is equidistant from all the major starting points for excursions on Mount Etna such as: Rifugio Sapienza and Piano Provenzana.
